Inclusive programs

People of all abilities should have equal access to health and fitness activities. Here is a list of inclusive programs that aim to do just that – provide sports, recreation, health and leisure programs that are designed to be inclusive for all.

We will keep adding new programs as we go - if you are aware of similar regional programs, please email us at

New Moves

New Moves is a free healthy lifestyle program for anyone aged 18-65 years old living with a mental illness.

The 16 week program provides fun physical activity, healthy meals, peer support and discussion topics on health living to help improve participants’ physical and mental wellbeing.

This program, coordinated by the Schizophrenia Fellowship of NSW (SFNSW), is available in the Sydney region: Ryde, Parramatta, Campbelltown, Northern Sydney and Inner West areas.

For further information, please contact SFNSW on 02 9879 2600 or visit the Schizophrenia Fellowship of NSW : New Moves website.

YMCA Inclusive Programs

YMCA hopes to motivate people with disabilities to participate and exercise their independence and choices in a supportive, social environment that builds self-esteem. We pride ourselves on being the only fitness and leisure organisation in NSW to provide a full suite of health, fitness, sport and recreation activities for people with disabilities.

YMCA has created a customised suite of programs for people with disabilities. These provide practical assistance to encourage participation and promote a supportive, social atmosphere that encourages connection and friendships.

Visit the YMCA website for more information or to find a program near you!
